  1. The Personal Information We Collect

Depending on the nature of your interaction with PETS911, we may collect personal information as follows:

  • Directly from you, when you provide information to us or interact with us:
    • Contact information and any other information you choose to include when you communicate with us via e-mail, telephone, mail, or other channels.
    • Account information, such as a username and password, your name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, and service-related information.
    • Product review information in response to questions or surveys we may send you through the Services, including for feedback and research purposes. 
    • Transactional information including payment information and payment history if you engage in transactions through the Services.
    • Ambassador program related information including contact information, photos of you, social media links, and PayPal account information if you apply to become a PETS911 Ambassador.
    • With your consent, your precise location through GPS signals in order to obtain your location for purposes of providing the Services.
  • Automatically from you, when you utilize or interact with our Services;
    • Device information and online user activity  via cookies and other tracking technologies when you utilize or interact with our Services, as described in Section 2 below.
  • From third parties:
    • Information about the marketing and advertisements you have seen or clicked on, from online advertising companies.
    • Information about your social media accounts, such as profile photo, if you choose to connect your PETS911 account to your social media platform.
    • If you purchase a PETS911 subscription from our website, we receive your subscriber ID, information about the subscription you purchased, and country of residence.

Some of this information may be collected by external parties on our behalf. For example, we use a payment processor when you engage in a transaction on our website; PETS911 does not itself collect or store payment card information.

  1. Online User Activity, Cookies and Information Collected by Other Automated Means

When you interact with the Services, certain information about your use of our Services is automatically collected. This includes:

  • Usage information about your interaction with our Services (such as the date, time, and length of visits, and specific pages or content accessed during the visits).
  • Device information including the IP address and other details of a device that you use to connect with our Services (such as device type, browser type, and operating system).
  • Location information where you choose to provide the Services with access to information about your device’s location.

Much of this information is collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies, which may be operated by our partners who assist us in collect information about usage of the online Services, serving ads, or providing other services to you. For example, we use Google Analytics to conduct website analytics and collect usage details.   • Provide our Services to you, including to maintain your account, and manage any purchases.
  • Respond to your requests, questions and comments and provide customer support.
  • Monitor the performance of our Services including metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns.

  • With service providers that we believe need the information to perform a technology, business, or other professional function for us such as IT services, maintenance and hosting of our Services, payment processors, accounting, auditing, and tax services, and other professional services.
  • With analytics providers we partner with who collect information via tracking technologies on our Services to assist us with measuring visits and traffic on our Services so we can measure and improve the performance of the Services.
  • With advertising partners who assist us in serving advertising regarding the Services to others who may be interested in the Services. These third parties may use tracking technologies to collect or receive information from the Services and elsewhere on the internet and use that information to provide measurement services and target ads. Third parties may allow other companies to access information about you so that they may market other products you may be interested in.
  • With social media platforms if you interact with us on social media platforms.  The social media platform may be able to collect information about you and your interaction with us. If you interact with social media objects on our Services (for example, by clicking on a Facebook “like” button), both the platform and your connections on the platform may be able to view that activity. To control this sharing of information, please review the privacy policy of the relevant social media platform.
  • With our affiliates and other entities in our corporate family, for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.
  • In the event of a corporate event, we reserve the right to transfer to another entity or its affiliates or service providers some or all information about you in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, acquisition, sale of assets or any line of business, change in ownership control, or financing transaction. We cannot promise that an acquiring party or the merged entity will have the same privacy practices or treat your information the same as described in this Privacy Policy.
  • For legal purposes where necessary to comply with applicable law, to respond to requests from law enforcement agencies or other government authorities or third-parties, as permitted by law and without your consent when it is necessary to protect our customers, employees, or property; in emergency situations; or to enforce our rights under our terms of service and policies.

Any information related to your experience with our Services that you provide via our product review mechanism may be displayed for promotional purposes.

We use a combination of physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we collect through the Services. While we use these precautions to safeguard your information, we cannot guarantee the security of the networks, systems, servers, devices, and databases we operate or that are operated on our behalf.

If you use our Services outside of the United States, you understand that we may collect, process, and store your personal information in the United States and other countries.

We will retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to complete the purposes for which it was collected, or as may be required by law.

  • Account Information. Please visit your PETS911 account dashboard to view and update your personal information.
  • Email Marketing and Communications. If at any time you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from us, you can click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. If you unsubscribe, we may still send you service-related communications.
  • Online Activity Tracking and Interest-Based Advertising. You have several options to either prevent our collection of information regarding your online activity, or prevent third parties from using such information from being used for interest-based advertisements:
    • You can opt out or set preferences regarding cookies when a device you utilize visits the Services. Please note that you will need to set preferences on each device you use to visit the Services.
    • You also modify your browser setting to disable or reject cookies across the internet; but if you do so, some features of our website or Services may not function properly or be available. If you are visiting the Services from a mobile device, the operating system of the device may offer you options regarding how the device collects and uses your information for interest-based advertising. We do not knowingly or intentionally gather personal information about children.  If we have inadvertently collected the personal information of a child under 16, or equivalent minimum age depending on jurisdiction, a parent or guardian of that child may contact us at [email protected] to request that we delete the information from our records or otherwise cease the use of that information.

Sale, Sharing, and Other Disclosure of Personal Information

Any category of personal information listed in the chart above may be disclosed for a business purpose to service providers and contractors, which are companies or individuals that we engage to conduct activities on our behalf. Service providers and contractors are restricted from using personal information for any purpose not related to our engagement.

California law also requires us to provide you with information regarding the parties to whom we sell (disclosing personal information for monetary or other benefit) or share (disclosing personal information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising) your information, and the parties to who we disclose your information for a business purpose.

We sell or share your information as follows:

  • Identifiers: Analytics partners and advertising partners.
  • Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute: Analytics and advertising partners.
  • Internet or Electronic Network Activity Information: Analytics partners and advertising partners.

We may disclose your information in other ways that are not considered sales under the law. Please see “How We Share Personal Information” above for more information about how we share your information.

Rights

You have the right to access, delete, and correct certain personal information collected about you. You or your authorized agent may submit a request to access, delete, or correct your personal information by emailing us your request at [email protected]. In order to process your request, we must verify your identity. We do this by asking you to provide information we can match against information we may have collected from you previously and confirm your request using the email account stated in the request. If you are requesting access on behalf of someone else, we will require verification of your identity, as well as proof of authorization by the individual whose personal information you wish to access. We may have a reason under the law why we do not have to comply with your request, or why we may comply with it in a more limited way than you anticipated. If we do, we will explain that to you in our response. If we deny your request, you can request further review by emailing us at [email protected]. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

You also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information to third parties. To opt out, please email us at [email protected]. Please note that your right to opt out does not apply to our sharing of personal information with service providers, as described above.

While the CCPA provides you the right to limit use of sensitive personal information, we only process sensitive personal information for purposes permitted by the CCPA and therefore do not offer an option to limit further processing of your sensitive personal information.

VIRGINIA, COLORADO, UTAH, AND CONNECTICUT RESIDENTS

Laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia provide their residents with the right to access, delete, and correct certain personal information collected about them. You or your authorized agent may submit a request to access, delete, or correct your personal information by emailing a request to [email protected]. In order to process your request, we must verify your identity. We do this by asking you to provide information we can match against information we may have collected from you previously. If you are requesting access on behalf of someone else, we will require verification of your identity, as well as proof of authorization by the individual whose personal information you wish to access.

Residents of these states also have the right to opt-out of targeted advertising and the sale of their personal information. To opt out, please email us at [email protected].

While residents have the right to opt out of automated profiling that would produce legal or other similarly significant effects, we do not use personal information to make automated decisions in any situation where you would have a legal right to opt out.

EEA, Switzerland, or the UK

Transfers

Because the Services are offered worldwide, the information about you that we process when you use Services in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or United Kingdom may be used, stored, transferred, accessed, or outside of the area in which you reside (including the United States and other countries where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers). Data protection laws vary from country to country and may not be equivalent to, or as protective as, the laws in your home country. When transferring your information, we take steps to ensure reasonable safeguards are in place to ensure an appropriate level of protection of your information and rely on various legal mechanisms to transfer your information.

We mainly process your personal information because it is necessary to perform our agreement to provide the Services to you or because the processing is necessary for our legitimate interests where those interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms related to data privacy. Where we rely on legitimate interest as this lawful basis, our legitimate interest is promoting our business, improving the services we offer to you and your experience when you interact with us, and ensuring effective operational management and internal administration of our business and the exercise of our rights. In limited circumstances, we may rely on other legal bases for processing your personal information, including when necessary to comply with a legal obligation or where you provide your consent for processing. 

Certain personal information may be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers. The laws in the U.S. regarding personal information may be different from the laws of your state or country. Any such transfers will comply with safeguards as required by relevant law. By using the Services, you consent to the collection, international transfer, storage, and processing of your data.

Rights
